Here’s the lowdown on who we’re working with and how we’re helping them:


Vodafone’s Money Transfer service is aimed at developing countries, and Datanomic’s technology will ensure stringent anti-money laundering practices are upheld. Datanomic’s Sanctions & PEP Screening solution is scalable and has the potential to screen all of Vodafone’s 300 million customers globally. “We spent a year evaluating vendors and Datanomic’s Sanctions & PEP Screening software provided extraordinary accuracy, scalability and resilience for a global implementation such as ours,” said Mark Clemison, Group Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
Barclaycard US uses Datanomic’s Sanctions & PEP Screening software to regularly screen its entire customer base against lists of known terrorists, money launderers and other criminals as well as understand its exposure to politically exposed persons (PEPs). “Other suppliers were considered but they could not provide the functionality or speed of deployment that we needed,” commented Mark Bishop, Risk Partner at Barclaycard.

Brent Council use Datanomic’s dn:Director software to maintain a single view of the its 271,000 residents and more than a million clients, supporting initiatives such as Government Connects and Contact Point. Tony Ellis, Head of IT for Brent Council commented, “with Datanomic’s dn:Director we are able to use improvements in the quality of our data to deliver improvements directly in our levels of customer service, reduce our cost of contacting customers, and reduce instances of fraud through consistency and greater transparency of our back end data.”
In deploying Datanomic’s Sanctions & PEP Screening software, Skandia was one of the first financial services companies to be compliant well ahead of the deadline for the 3rd EU Money Laundering Directive. “The Datanomic solution adds to our assurance levels with a more automated ability to detect and identify relationships needing appropriate investigation and possible monitoring,” said Steve Blackbourn, Group Financial Crime Officer.

As part of its drive for accuracy and consistency in line with the Department of Health’s mandated requirements, County Durham PCT and Darlington PCTs needed to automate and streamline the handling of their data quality management processes and achieve high levels of efficiency. “Our objective is to be a world class commissioning organisation with a fully modern business intelligence system,” said Roger Haydon, Head of Information Services for County Durham PCT, “we did a market evaluation of several products over a three month period and selected Datanomic’s dn:Director as our platform of choice.”
Brewin Dolphin uses dn:Director to support its anti-money laundering strategy and in order to comply with the EU 3rd Money Laundering Directive (EU3MLD). “We have deployed Datanomic’s Sanctions & PEP Screening solution to maintain and control our PEP list and Bank of England OFAC monitoring,” said Lillian Brown, Divisional Director of Compliance for Brewin Dolphin. “In particular, we wanted to cut down on the number of ‘false positives’ and automate what is an intensely administrative process whilst eliminating human error.”

In their capacity of driving a major healthcare data migration project forward and dealing with the issues of extremely large volumes of complex data and the subsequent management of that data, BT Global Services needed to find a solution to address concerns about the quality of information in the Patient Administration System, particularly the level of duplicated patient records. “When we evaluated dn:Director we liked the fact that it provided integrated functionality through a single interface; unlike other products, we did not need a collection of tools to fulfill all of our requirements.” noted Nick Pope, Data Migration Lead, BT Global Services.

EBS deployed the dn:Director data quality solution and, within two weeks from the installation date, was distributing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for data completeness to its branch network.
EXPOBANK, a full-service bank providing a wide range of products and services in Russia, uses Datanomic’s Sanctions & PEP Screening solution to regularly screen its customers against lists of sanctioned entities and politically exposed persons, proving assured compliance with anti-money laundering legislation. The solution processes names in both the Latin and Cyrillic alphabets.
Countrywide is widely acknowledged as the leading provider of all services relating to residential property in the UK – including Estate Agency, Mortgage and related Financial Services, Lettings, Conveyancing and Surveying. It uses Datanomic’s dn:Director data quality software to improve and maintain the quality of customer data across the enterprise.
Gartmore adopted the dn:Director Sanctions & PEP Screening Solution to deliver an automated and consistent foundation for mitigating risk as part of its compliance with the EU 3rd Money Laundering Directive. “We needed a comprehensive system that was future proofed, well supported and easy to use,” said Steve Elkins, Chief Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer. “Datanomic’s dn:Director was the clear choice, it’s very sophisticated, distinctly ahead in terms of functionality and most of all it’s easy to use.”
Datanomic used its dn:Director data quality solution to analyze the Royal Shakespeare Company’s customer database and provide household linking for ticket buyers. “Many senior managers underestimate the power and importance of data quality in the database,” said Mary Butlin, Head of Market Planning for the Royal Shakespeare Company. “Understanding the details of customer data can deliver dramatic results, and the way you capture an address can have a significant impact on response rates in terms of sales and customer service.”
Artemis is using Datanomic’s solution to support its proactive Sanctions List monitoring to screen up to 120,000 retail customer client records across the business. The Datanomic solution replaces a previously used outsourced service. “We wanted to ensure readiness for pending new legislation and ensure we were fully compliant without putting extra strain on the business,” said Graeme Mitchell, Head of Compliance for Artemis Investment Management Ltd. “Datanomic’s dn:Director provides sophisticated matching technology in an easy to use solution that delivers clear, fast results, rather than having to spend hours poring over reports.”

With hundreds of thousands of UK customers, Hyundai Motor UK Ltd faced data quality issues that are common to large organisations, such as outdated or invalid customer records, duplication, or poorly structured data in its CRM system. “We were looking for a solution that was both intelligent, automated and easy to use, which is why we selected Datanomic’s dn:Director. The improved data quality that Datanomic delivers will further enable us to build and maintain our customer relationships,” said Rebecca Morrison, CRM Manager for Hyundai Motor UK Ltd.
SJ Berwin, the leading European law firm, uses Datanomic’s software as a major tool for risk assessment and ongoing monitoring. “Operating in the European and international market place in today’s commercial environment requires compliance with supervisory regulations and legislation. Jupiter is using Datanomic’s solution via a third party to support its proactive Sanctions List monitoring to screen 780,000 client records every month. “In light of pending EU legislation, Datanomic’s software will provide us with significant time savings, and a higher level of assurance that we are compliant in meeting our continuing regulatory obligations,” said a Jupiter spokesperson.
